A DLC is a Diagnostic Link Connector. This connection is the OBD-II Port, usually located somewhere underneath the dashboard of a vehicle, where the emissions analyzer will connect to the vehicle’s onboard computer system. If the DLC is damaged, XXXX.
If the DLC is missing, or shows evidence of tamper or damage, inspectors will select the applicable option on the DLC Reason Screen. The analyzer will prompt the inspector to ensure that the DLC is in fact damaged or missing. If there is any non-factory wiring connected to the DLC, the vehicle should not be plugged into the analyzer. If the DLC is damaged or missing, refer the vehicle to the Emissions Lab.
If the DLC is located intact and undamaged, locate the OBD-II connector on the analyzer and connect it to the OBD-II connection on the vehicle. The test is now ready to proceed. Follow the remaining prompts on the analyzer screen.
