Background

In some situations, the owner of an inspection station will be held responsible for violations that occur on the property, even if the inspector or another employee is at fault. However, inspectors or employees must be acting within the scope of his employment when the violation occurs. Owner penalties include monetary Nines and license revocation. Owner Nines are higher than administrative Nines. Like administrative Nines, violations are considered subsequent of they occur within a two-year period. However, owner Nines are not issued if violations are discovered during a covert audit, except for the third offense.
