Smog Tech Certification Course

Thank you for enrolling in the Smog Tech Certification Course. Congratulations on starting your journey toward your 1G Emissions Inspector license. You will soon receive an email with your username and password. You can change these anytime in the Account Page.

Order Details:

You can find the order details for your account on the Account page. Click on the Account menu item in the main navigation bar, located at the the top of this page. Once you are on the Account page, navigate to your order details by clicking on the Order menu item in the Account navigation menu located in the sidebar on the left side of the page. The Account page is where you can view or manage your account.

Remember that your login is good for 90 Days from the time you purchase the course. If, after 90 days, you haven’t finished the course, you’ll have to purchase it again and start over.

You can find your login instructions in the welcome email sent to the user’s email account when the Smog Technician Course was purchased. You can find more on the FAQs page, and contact us from the contact form located on the FAQs page. 

Smog Tech Certification Course:

You will need to be logged into SmogTechSchool.com in order to take the course. Navigate to the course by clicking on the Course menu item in the main navigation bar located at the top of the page.

At the bottom of each page in a lesson, there is a button labeled “Mark as Complete”. Mark each page complete as you work through the course.

The Nevada DMV requires 20 hours of instruction for 1G Emissions Inspectors. This time is counted from the time you start the course, and the timer counts every minute that you are engaged in the coursework. You may have to go through the coursework multiple times to fulfill the 20 hour requirement. Make sure you fully understand each concept covered before moving on. 

Once you pass the final exam with a score of 80% or more, and have spent 20 hours in the coursework, you’ll have access to the Exit Quiz. This quiz is designed to test your understanding of the Nevada Emission Lab rules regarding licensure. Once you pass the Exit Quiz, your Certificate will be generated. You can access your Certificate at the top of the Course Page. Download and print your Certificate, and bring it with you to the DMV for your Written Test.
