If the MIL indicator is commanded, “ON,” it means that the vehicle has ‘thrown a code’ due to a problem. The DTC Display will show the code that the vehicle’s PCM presented, and it can help identify the problem. NOTE: Nevada 1G Inspectors are never allowed to erase codes—it’s against the law. Also, even if a code is not emissions-related, it can still cause emissions or safety issues. As a result, all active codes are considered to be emissions-related.
