A Vehicle Inspection Number is present on every American passenger vehicle, and the vast majority of foreign-market passenger vehicles. This number is typically stamped on a plate and placed in a cutout on the vehicle’s dashboard. This number is often visible by looking down through the driver’s-side windshield and is often available on the driver-side door label. VIN numbers can help identify the make, model, country of origin, and year of manufacture for a vehicle. Once located, Nevada 1G Inspectors will enter the vehicle VIN number when prompted by the analyzer.
