Insert Probes

Emissions probes will be used to collect gas samples from vehicle exhaust. During the tailpipe test, insert a probe into each exhaust pipe. Each probe must be inserted carefully to prevent it from falling out during the test. If a spark arrestor screen obstructs the tailpipe, insert a needle probe instead. Dual probes must be used for a vehicle with dual exhaust. Remember, always test both pipes at the same time when inspecting a vehicle with dual exhaust.
